Tips for a 'better' labour experience
Spiritual quotient
- Make supplications about what you want your labour to be like and leave the rest to Him.
- Recite Quran and frequent Surah Maryam to help ease labour, with His will.
- Have a great birthing partner/doula on-site. A supportive hubby will perfectly do.
- Air selusuh- an ustaz prepared me this water, it is to help ease labour by using prayers and Quranic verses with water. I don't know much about it so you can ask a more knowledgeable person about it okay.
Physical quotient
- Balanced diet. Drink lotsa water to not get constipated. Don't skip meals just because of the worry if everything is going to be alright during labour. It will, insyaAllah :).
- Pelvic floor exercise to strengthen your perineal muscles. You can google for its definition and even better if you could find a video of it to know exactly how it is done. Basically it involves tightening and loosening the muscles surrounding you baby's exit point i.e. your vagina, repeatedly.
- Exercise with a birthing or an exercise ball. Great to be practised especially near your due date.
